My son just finished Teach Your Child To Read in 100 Easy Lessons and I wanted to share with you all how it worked for us and what are plans are for his Language Arts curriculum for the rest of the year and into first grade.
I hope you find this review helpful!
I had to split the video up into two parts because it was pretty long–
The first video, is an in-depth review of the book, plus a wonderful supplemental resource that I found on Teacher’s Pay Teachers (www.teacherspayteachers.com) by Glimmercat Education!
Glimmercat Education makes companion packets for each set of 5-10 lessons in 100 Easy Lessons (up to lesson 65, so far) that help to reinforce what your child is learning in a fun way!
In the second video, I share with you what my plans are going forward for his Language Arts curriculum inspired by a book that I found called Uncovering the Logic of English by Denise Eide,
plus a short two-three minute video montage of my son’s reading progression from lesson 31 to lesson 100!
It was really cool to see how much he has grown as a reader! I am so happy that I filmed his reading lessons–I just knew that it would be really neat to look back on! I highly recommend it.
So, check it out and let me know what you think or if you have any questions! Plus, please leave a comment on the video, giving my son some love for his awesome reading skills! He has been such a trooper, letting me put his reading out there for everyone to see!
I have provided links* to all of the resources that I mention in the video, below the videos here and also in the description box on YouTube.
Thanks for watching!
